The purpose of the Internet technologies study program is to equip students with the skills necessary for roles in the following fields: computer networks, databases, programming, and web programming.
The program offers four modules, allowing students to choose based on their interests starting from the second year. These modules reflect real and anticipated market demands for different ICT professionals. Students can select one of the following modules: Web programming, Computer network administration, Medical informatics, and Information technologies.
Consequently, after graduation, students are prepared for careers such as network administrator, systems engineer, database administrator, programmer, or web developer. This is achieved through a study program featuring a common core in the first three trimesters of the first year. During this period, students take mandatory courses in computer networks, databases, and programming. From the second year onwards, students choose one of the four elective modules according to their interests.
Each module includes elective courses specific to the chosen field for students who wish to specialize. Students can also select courses from other modules, enabling them to gain competencies in multiple fields, thus enhancing their employment potential across different areas, depending on labour market conditions.
By mastering their chosen area of study, students acquire the competencies required to perform their roles, either independently or as part of a team.
Computer networks courses cover the following topics:
- Network protocols, i.e., communication rules in computer networks
- Network devices and operating systems
- Planning and designing computer networks
- Network security
- Network administration using server operating systems on Linux and Windows
Special emphasis is placed on acquiring practical, applicable knowledge through independent student work in a modern, well-equipped computer networks lab. Students work in real-world conditions: setting up networks, configuring devices for optimal performance, and verifying results. This enables them to design local area networks (LANs) tailored to specific requirements.
The school also houses a local Cisco Academy, which students can attend as part of their regular studies. This is particularly advantageous for those focusing on computer networks, as they graduate with the opportunity to obtain a CCNA certification.
Software engineering courses include:
Students learn methods and tools for programming web and desktop applications. The topics covered include:
- Database design and implementation: SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, MS Access
- Database administration
- Object-oriented programming: .NET Framework, C#, Java
- Web programming
- Web design
- Multimedia graphics and animation
Advantages of the study program
- The School is an Oracle academy, enabling students to attend specific Oracle courses and earn database certifications.
- Classes are organized in trimesters, with three years of study divided into nine trimesters. This structure ensures a logical course progression, starting from basic professional subjects to advanced courses, culminating in students' professional development.
Upon completing the Internet technologies program, students earn a first-level professional higher education degree and the title of Professional electrical and computer engineer.
