The Postal traffic and logistics study program has existed in various forms since 1974, aiming to train qualified and competent professionals for work in the modern logistics and postal traffic environment. A significant advantage of this program is that there is no similar educational profile in the field of professional higher education programs, either within the country or the region.
Goal of the Postal traffic and logistics study program
The goal of the Postal traffic and logistics study program is to enable students, through dual and traditional models of education, to explore various methodological approaches to solving problems and to apply acquired knowledge appropriately through a wide range of courses.
Graduates with the title of Professional traffic engineer acquire theoretical and practical knowledge necessary for work in postal and logistics systems.
This goal is achieved through a detailed understanding of technology, processes, work procedures, business environments, and mastering practical skills related to service processes, functioning, and quality control of postal and logistics services, in cooperation with the leading sector representatives.
Dual study model – NEW!
Since the 2021/22 academic year, the Postal traffic and logistics study program has been available under the Dual study model (DSM), based on the Law on dual study models in higher education (2019).
The goal of the DSM is to develop knowledge, skills, abilities, attitudes, and business competencies aligned with the study program, qualification standards, and real labour market needs.
The DSM involves teaching through:
- Active education at the higher education institution, and
- Practical training and work for an employer—learning through work.
Learning through work is an organized process where students, under supervision, work for an employer, applying theoretical knowledge in a real work environment. They gain firsthand experience with business procedures and technologies used in the professional world, network with employed professionals, and prepare for the labour market. Students also receive compensation for their work.
Employers monitor and guide the development of young professionals based on real labour market needs in the field.
Program's role in dual studies
The role of the Postal traffic and logistics study program in this process is to encourage and monitor students' career development, satisfaction, and motivation, and to support students in planning and setting career development goals.
Our first partner in developing the DSM is the Post of Serbia, a system with over 15,000 employees and more than 1,500 postal network units.
