The purpose of the study programme of Postal Logistics Systems
This study programme has existed since 1974 under different names but always with the same purpose to train qualified and competent personnel to work in contemporary settings of postal traffic and logistics systems. Our major advantage is the uniqueness of this study programme within the higher education institutions of applied studies, both in our country and in the region.
The goal of the study programme of Postal Logistics Systems
The main goal of this study programme is to enable students to get acquainted with different methodological approaches in solving engineering problems and to apply the acquired knowledge in the field of organizing postal and logistics services. The goal is achieved through a detailed study of technology, processes, work procedures and business environment, as well as by mastering practical skills necessary for providing services, functioning and quality control of postal and logistics operators, relying on the cooperation with the most prominent representatives of the sector.
Dual model of studies – NEW!
Starting from the school year 2021/22, students of the study programme of Postal and Logistics Systems will have the opportunity to choose the dual model of studies (DMS) based on the Law on the Dual Model of Studies in Higher Education (2019).
The goal of DMS is acquiring, developing and mastering knowledge, skills, capabilities and ways of thinking, i.e. business competencies aligned with the curriculum of the study programme and the relevant qualification standard, as well as the real needs of the labour market.
DMS is realized through:
- active instruction in a higher education institution and internship
- work with the employer – work-based learning
Work-based learning is an organized process that enables students to work with the employer under the professional supervision of instructors and to apply the acquired theoretical knowledge in a real work environment, to get acquainted with business procedures and technologies in real-world business settings, to communicate with the employed professionals and prepare themselves for the world of work. Students will get financial compensation from the employer for their work.
The employer supervises work-based learning and guides the professional development of young people according to the real labour market needs.
The role of the study programme of Postal Logistics Systems is to enhance and monitor the career development of students, as well as their satisfaction and motivation; and to support and encourage students to define and pursue goals of their career development.
Our first partner in the process of the development of DMS is the PE Post of Serbia, a system with over 15,000 employees and over 1,500 work units of the postal network.
The field of postal technologies:
- providing postal, financial, electronic and other services in postal traffic
- organization, management and supervision of work in postal network units
- gathering, processing and analysis of data related to services and parcel flows
- training in an up-to-date PostTIS laboratory, which is connected to the PostTIS/Intranet network of the PE Post of Serbia and used in a regular teaching process
The field of logistics services:
- tracking and management of the flows of goods and services, the organization of cargo transport for third parties
- organizing transport by using modern technologies composed of transport, organization and management of logistics chains
- choosing vehicles and planning traffic itineraries
Special amenities?
- teaching process in the School is realized through trimesters, courses follow a logical sequence enabling students to gradually acquire knowledge starting from fundamental professional courses and finishing their studies by mastering advanced courses
- all courses are divided into groups of compulsory and elective courses, which allows students to major in a particular field aligned with their preferences, capabilities and interests
- special attention is paid to the sports activities of our students; there are outdoor and indoor sports facilities for training and preparing students to participate in various sports events and competitions

Professional title and the continuation of studies?
After completing the study programme of Postal Logistics Systems, a student acquires a professional title with an indication of the title of the first degree of applied studies in the relevant field: Engineer of Traffic Engineering - Bachelor (appl.).
Upon completion of undergraduate applied studies, a student can enroll in master applied and academic studies.
Having followed the trends in the market and the demands of companies, along with the aim to train professional and highly qualified personnel in the field, the study programme of Postal and Logistics Systems has constantly innovated its curriculum through introducing new courses and updating the existing ones. Starting from the school year 2021/22, students can choose a new elective course Business Software in Logistics
General information
All students activities are rated according to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System, ECTS), so that each trimester is awarded 30 ECTS credits. The basic applied studies last for three years, that is, nine trimesters and they award 180 ECTS points. The studies were conducted in the form of class-based teaching (face-to-face) in Serbian. The study program is realized within the field of technical and technological sciences, the field of Traffic engineering.
Qualification
After completing basic applied studies, a student is appointed a title of engineer of traffic engineering (Bachelor appl.). According to the National Framework of Qualifications of the Republic of Serbia (NFQRS) the completion of basic applied studies is achieved at the sixth level, sub-level one (level 6.1). The condition for acquiring this level is previously achieved level 4 of NFQRS and passed general, professional or artistic graduation.
Teaching and exams
Teaching is performed using one-trimester courses. Students activities during the trimester (pre-examination obligations), such as colloquiums, seminar work and homework, are scored. The ratio of the number of points earned in pre-examination and exams is determined for each subject individually, with pre-examination obligations participating with at least 30 and up to 70 points. The final exams are placed in the School within the appropriate exam terms, which are: December, April, June, July, September and October. By completing preliminary exams and taking the exam, a student can earn a maximum of 100 points, with a score of at least 51 points for a grade of 6, a score of 61 points for a grade of 7, a score of at least 71 points for a grade of 8, a score of at least 81 points for a grade of 9 and a score of at least 91 points for a grade of 10.

Postal Logistics Systems study program aims to enable students to perform activities in the field of postal and logistics systems.
The objectives of Postal Logistics Systems study program are to qualify professional and competent personnel for the purpose of:
- organisation and management in the field of postal and logistics services;
- application of postal and logistics technologies in line with real needs in industrial and social sectors;
- application of computer technologies in postal traffic and logistics.
By mastering Postal Logistics Systems study program, the student acquires general and subject specific skills:
- application of computer technologies in postal traffic and logistics.
- to organize transportation, to route and track postal items and to define the location of objects in logistics systems;
- to apply information and communication technology aimed at normal functioning of postal logistics systems and creation of competitive advantage at the market.
Continuation of studies
After completing basic applied studies, a student can enrol in master applied studies.
